Barefoot shoes (also known as minimalist running shoes) are designed to mimic the natural gait of walking barefoot, awaken foot muscles, and preserve ground sensation, while providing basic puncture and slip protection.  They are not truly barefoot, but use a "zero-drop + wide toe box + ultra-thin flexible sole" design to allow the feet to return to a more natural force and balance pattern. They are suitable for everyday wear, functional training, and light outdoor activities, and there are also children's versions adapted for foot development.

Barefoot Shoe Features:

1. Zero Drop: The thickness of the forefoot and heel are the same (no elevated heel), resulting in a more natural standing posture and gait, reducing compensatory pressure on the knees and lower back;

2. Wide Toe Box: U-shaped/fan-shaped, allowing toes to fully spread without compression, improving balance and proprioception;

3. Ultra-thin and Flexible Sole: Common thickness is 3–6mm (entry-level/transition models can be 8–10mm), made of rubber/elastic composite material, allowing for clear perception of the ground while protecting against minor punctures from gravel and glass; some outdoor models have added anti-collision rubber on the toe.
